Woman Drinks Her Own Urine on TLC's Strange Addiction
Addicted to her own urine
A woman who appeared on TLC's "My Strange Addiction" is turning stomachs with her strange addiction - drinks her own urine in what she believes it is a fool way proof to cure her cancer. As she is a cancer survivor, she believes that has helped her keep her in remission.
However , she hasn't been to a doctor in six years , from the first time she drank her pee four years ago. Carrie said , "I didn't throw up and it wasn't horrible ". Sometimes it tastes like plum champagne ," she adds , proving just how sophisticated her palette is.
The 53-year-old , who is known as Carrie says, in a preview to the show that for the past four years , she has also washed her eyes with it , poured it in her nose by using a neti pot and brushes her teeth with it.Besides , she also combs it through her hair and used it as face lotion.
"It's tastes like water to me," she told her friend.
While the show has received attention each week highlighting strange and stomach-turning addictions, Carrie's pee problem seems to have made some viewer question the show and its subjects.
"I suppose one could argue that eating you dead husband's ashes is grosser than drinking her own urine ", but there is something uniquely horrifying about this lady pour "aged" urine through her nasal cavity with a neti pot ,then tilt her head back so the snot-tinged piss will pool in the back of her throat".
Carrie's not the first person who come up with this strange supposed cure - it's been a health fad for centuries with a loyal following.
British newspaper ; The Independent , reported on 2006 that Egyptian medical texts ,as well as Chinese and Indian documents mention drinking urine as cures. Advocates of the current drinking - urine movement reportedly say it can boost energy levels, cure diseases and improve sexual function.
Most doctor doubt about the practice of the health benefits , warning it can cause dehydration and can damage your body.
"There are no health benefits drinking your own urine, and in fact, I think it could be quite detrimental", says Helen Andrews, the British Dietetic Association. He also told The Independent , "each time you put it back ,it will come out again even more concentrated and there is no good for your health as it could damage the gut. If you are stranded ,your body will try to conserve as much water as it can.Drinking your urine would be like drinking seawater".
Carrie's not the only on this week's episode with issues about what goes into her digestive system.
Another woman on the episode declared her addiction to eat something dirty.
"It just tastes like potato chips," she said.

" Riley an Adult Baby "
Riley Kilo an adult baby |
This story is about transgender women from Buffalo, New York. Her name is Riley. Riley actually is a man. 5 years ago, Riley changed sexes and begin living as a female. Addicting of being an adult baby makes her a unique person with strange addiction. She loves to dress as a baby and she dresses as a baby as often as she can. She chooses to live as an adult baby to escape from the stress of the real world. Since Riley was born a male, she says that she is trying to recapture a girly childhood she missed out on. For Riley gender is something that you can choose and she strongly believe that she is a girl. She said being a girl makes her feel comfortable and it is so right in her opinion.
Riley said there is nothing like the comfort of wearing a
warm, wet diapers. Lives her life as an adult baby, she loves to wear clothes
that seemed baby pajamas. She sleeps in
a crib, coloring, drink with her baby’s bottles, sucking on her pacifier,
playing with teddy bears, and wearing diapers 24 hours a day. She also makes
baby noises as she plays with stuffed toys and she always wearing glasses. Everything
that she did is a practice she began at age of 13.
Riley spends about 12 hours a day dressed as a baby. That’s
actually if we count, it is over 4000 hours a year. She spends about $400 a
month to buy diapers and bottles. Riley wears at least three diapers a day and
that is over 1000 diapers a year. When she was small, she scared if she cannot have a normal
life. Being an adult baby makes her feel different ways, sometimes makes her
happy and sometimes makes her feel sad. She did try to stop but it’s only take
a half second. Riley afraid to tell others because for her there always have
that fear that they will completely being judgemental.
James which is Riley’s friend said he who has been friend
with Riley for about three to four years was surprised to know about Riley’s
addiction. And even Candice, Riley’s closest friend, who has been friend with
Riley for about seven years also do not know about her strange addiction. Moreover,
Candice live in another town, making her harder to recognize about Riley’s
addiction. At first, Riley scared to tell Candice but finally she ready to tell
Candice about her addiction. Candice quite shock to know about Riley’s
addiction. But Candice felt glad because Riley told her the truth of her addiction.
For Candice, it is Riley’s life, she just want her to be happy.
As for Riley she do not think what she did is wrong, dirty
or weird. “There’s no reason to stop, why should stop?”, said Riley. For her,
diapers are like security and makes her thinks that she can do anything.Riley’s friend concerned about her condition, asked her to meet
phychologist . From that, Riley reveals that she was bullied a lot in the past
and she feel traumatic because of that. Maybe that is one of her reason to
start her strange addiction.Until now, Riley is still engrossed in her adult baby
addiction. She convicted it is the right lifestyle for her.

Introduction to addiction and case #1: Mother of two reveals very 'Strange Addiction': Drinking paint
WHAT IS ADDICTION ?
People with an addiction do not have control over what they are doing,
taking or using. Their addiction may reach a point at which it is
harmful. Addictions do not only include physical things we consume, such
as drugs or alcohol, but may include virtually anything, such abstract
things as gambling to seemingly harmless products, such as chocolate -
in other words, addiction may refer to a substance dependence (e.g. drug addiction) or behavioural addiction (e.g. gambling addiction).
When a person is addicted to something they cannot control how they use it, and become dependent on it to cope with daily life.
SOME TERMS ON ADDICTION
- Addictive personality A concept that was formerly used to explain addiction as the result of pre-existing character defects in individuals.
- Process addiction Addiction to certain mood-altering behaviours, such as eating disorders, gambling, sexual activity, overwork, and shopping.
- Tolerance A condition in which an addict needs higher doses of a substance to achieve the same effect previously achieved with a lower dose.
- Withdrawal The unpleasant, sometimes life-threatening physiological changes that occur, due to the discontinuation of use of some drugs after prolonged, regular use.
Alabama, US. Heather Beal, a mother of two, admits that she has guzzled close to three gallons since she first started the practice three years ago.
'As it's going down your throat it feels very nice and warm, almost like a thicker version of warm milk,' she says. "But obviously, it's got that very strong chemical taste, which is perfect to me."
Ms Beal says that she prefers paint in marker form, and goes to the hardware store to feed her habit. Every day she pries the cap off one paint marker and drinks the contents.
'I drink paint from markers because I have looked for other paints, both in quart or gallon form, and haven't found any that satisfy my desire,' she explains.

She says that her bizarre habit began after her mother died, and that until now no one has seen her drink paint - especially not her children.
Constant cravings: She says that she is addicted to paint in all forms , from gallons to markers. |
Ms Beal demonstrates how she is able to eat the residue on the surface of the paint marker.
Later in the episode
Ms Beal seems to get a wake-up call
after she visits a doctor and
learns that sh/e has done damage to her kidneys.

After someone asked her what she would feel like if one of her kids drank paint, she vowed to kick the habit - and in a recent interview with TLC she claimed she has stayed clean.
Other noticeable signs in people using inhalants include nosebleeds, runny nose, reddened eyes - and sudden violent behaviour may result because of the effect inhalants have on the brain. Most inhalants depress the central nervous system in a similar way to alcohol, but inhalant abuse can also cause relaxation, euphoria, slurred speech, hallucinations, drowsiness, dizziness, nausea and vomiting.
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration, users of inhalants may lose the ability to walk, talk or think
